Manifesto
City Desk Records is a label committed to connecting artists with larger audiences. We work with rock and roll bands that are charismatic and maintain a strong focus on songwriting.
City Desk Records is not a traditional record label. In fact, the label was born out of the recognition that conventional record deals — whether they are corporate or independent — just don’t cut it any more given the drastic changes the internet has brought to the industry.
Rather than owning artist’s work, City Desk opts to partner with artists to further their career. The label is a unique hybrid of traditional record label, management company, producer and marketing and publicity firm.
Web 2.0
We work with our artists to take full advantage of social networking sites like Myspace and Facebook, as well as other Web 2.0 developments such as blogs and podcasts. Our artists are very podcaster friendly and as a matter of policy we are not afraid to provide free downloads to help broaden an artist’s fanbase.
Distribution
At present, we take a digital-only approach to distribution. We work with Tunecore to distribute releases to all major digital retailers. Our releases are also available at Amazon.com.

Submissions
We are currently accepting submissions from hard-working rock and roll bands with a focus on songwriting.
