The internet has changed everything. Not that long major record labels had a stranglehold on the music industry because it controlled the massive CD distribution infrastructure. Those days are now gone. Industry reports show that physical CD sales now account for less than 30% of the revenue generated by an artist. Thanks to iTunes and other digital retailers any artist can have worldwide distribution that costs only a few dollars and takes a matter of minutes to arrange.
As a forward-thinking record label, City Desk takes full advantage of the industry upheaval and relies exclusively on digital distribution for national sales.
City Desk works with Tunecore to arrange distribution to all of the major online retailers including:

- Rhapsody
- eMusic
- Napster
- MusicNet
- Sony Connect
- Groupie Tunes (ringtones)
We also work with online retailers like Amazon.com
All of this focus on digital distribution does not mean we refuse to work with traditional retailers. We love a good old fashioned record store and work with them on a regional basis.
